About the British Marine Federation (BMF)
The British Marine Federation (BMF) is the trade association for the UK's boating industry. With 1,500 member companies, its role is to promote and protect the British boating industry. BMF membership represents some 75 per cent of the industry's turnover.
Members supply the boats, equipment and services that enable a great many UK citizens to enjoy every type of boating and water-sports activity, on inland and coastal waterways. The BMF works closely with consumer groups that represent boat users and particularly the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), which represents approximately 400,000 recreational boat users through 1,500 affiliated clubs.
The BMF is involved in a broad range of activities on behalf of members both in the UK and Overseas. These include a full range of trade association services covering Environmental Support, Boating Facilities, Exporting, Government Relations, Legal, Financial Advice, Marketing, Technical and Training.
Any marine company can benefit from applying to become a BMF Member, by receiving a whole range of benefits from legal and technical advice, export advice, grants and training from the experts at the BMF, and a whole host of other benefits, see the 'How to join' section on the British Marine website at www.britishmarine.co.uk.
